The Difficulty of Upholding Basic Boundaries of Morality
Hannibal Lecter is a good example, but it's very difficult. You are not upholding some basic bourgeois norms of morality. The only way you can really turn bad people into heroes is by having even worse people be the villains. That exposes the way like Americans respond to certain things versus the way say Swedes or French people would. And I think I have a lot more answers to this question, but I think I should now probably stop.
