The Importance of the Hinterland in the US

The Hinterland is a new book that explores the concept of "the far hinterland" It's both geographic but it's also, it's also Hinterland in the sense of the Hinterland to capital conceptually. So basically it's this divide between where do the people who own the things versus where is actual production happening? And so I explore those a little bit in the book about what that looks like at the level of urban structure and whatnot. But it became very clear that these questions in every kind of respect were spatial and so they were geographical as well.
