The Obligation to Love the Prophet

I'm assuming and again this is all assumption that they were also invoking the name of Jesus Christ in their worship in terms of praise. We are strict we follow Allah's rules and commands right so that is simply the reason why. I don't think it's again the simple reason is Allah never asked us to do so so we were not allowed to we can't. If you want to mention Jesus Christ and if you want to invoke him in our worship then you have to do so with other prophets as well.
