A Chinese company bought a majority stake in grinder, which is a gay dating app. CFIUS forced them to disinvest your disinvest, slash sell the company due to privacy concerns. In the case of TikTok, it's different because TikTok has an enormous engineering footprint in China. The only option that the US government has left is actually a full ban on TikTok. "It wouldn't be far-fetched to assume that the app at this point has so many backdoors"
