The 'red book' was written by a young man in the early 1800s. It is said to be full of drawings with commentaries in monkish script. When it first came out, almost everyone knew about it but had never seen it. The red book has acquired this sort of mythical status becauseyu,. you knew it was there. But nobody had actually seen this thing - which makes it absolutely fascinating.
