The Importance of a Two-Tier System in Singapore
The repressive political climate is not identified by most people as particularly healthy democracy and then more importantly the whole system works on access to a huge supply army of labor from the region who are treated as sort of completely disposable higher fire. Well over fifty percent of the residents of Singapore are not citizens and in the Gulf it's much much higher so this if one wants to like glorify like a micro quality along the lines of the zone that has restricted democracy but profits from some capitalist growth that also means that you're going to bring in with it a model of second-class citizen contractual contracted labor which needs to be kept under militarized guard.
