I remember reading that ink was primarily inspired by JavaScript I want to say and I know that oak also kind of took syntax from there. It often borrows from functional programming as well yeah so a lot of the stylistic things I took from Roth's Dendlua which I think struck the right balance between like being kind of concise and nice to look at aesthetically. All of the tools that people use in ML are kind of DSLs over different things like TensorFlow or pie torch for doing neural networks. They work on different levels of abstraction and you see sort of the innovation cycles here we're first to start with TensorFlow  and then it sounds like the half scale torch
