Andre Rigo and Haitian Politics

Andre Rigo and his supporters began to conspire. It was almost a mirror image of the conspiracy hatched by Macondal all those years ago. They viewed whites as outsiders with no real roots in the colony, and blacks as an uneducated rabble without knowledge or skills to rule. And so they resented Louvertour and had misgivings about this new Haiti he was trying to build.
