"I would put it as at the feet of negative, negative cultural effects of negative partisanship," he says. "The more I can be defiant of them, the more sort of emotional response I can get from them." The goal here is to create a reaction and in hopefully in creating a reaction sort of pull, make the other side look unreasonable,. But you know, forgetting the fact that you're taking to create their reaction are often unreasonable all in, in and of themselves".
