In the early 1900s an ambitious and flamboyant entrepreneur named William T. Love envisioned building a model community near the upper and lower Niagara Rivers and Niagara Falls, New York. The project was abandoned in 1910 due to economic fluctuations and Nikola Tesla's discovery of alternating current which allowed for cheap transmission of electrical power over long distances.
