Francis: I hadn't quite appreciated the domino effect that you described there. It reminded me something of the historian now Ferguson pointed out which is that in a surveillance state, everyone gets used to lying but when everyone lies you get disasters like Chernobyl. He asks what other instances are there if Chernobyl was one of the big dominoes to use your termWhat others are there that really got us to the point that the Soviet Union was brought down and also the anger generally towards Russia perhaps by the before Chernobyl or immediately afterwards?
