Surely, These Are the Very People That Israel Displaced
The people of israel were likely accustomed to telling their story in a way that accentuated the faithfulness of their father abraham. For those used to hearing the story told in such a manner, esechiel's retelling could not be more jarring. Israel has intermarried with the canon its extensively over the course of the years. The idea that they could claim abrahamic pedegry for themselves without considering their far more spiritually determinative ancestry from the idultrous canonites is rather presumptuous on their part.
