Isolating Languages
V verb chains are common in analytic isolating languages like Chinese and Khmer. They're also very, very common in parts of Africa where another analytic hotspot is Yoruba. Another trick available in these languages is to have lots and lots of particles. For example, Burmese or Thai has different sentence final particles for male and female.
