This week's book trend is unfortunately an all too familiar one. Maggie Ticuda Hall got a message that Scholastic's education division was offering to license her picture book for a rising voices library collection. She had to cut the words virulent racism from one sentence about the trauma caused by anti-Japanese American policies, and she also had to eliminate a paragraph about racism's broader legacy in America.
