knockway's unflinching coverage of the Civil Wars in Central America earned him a contract with Time magazine. He was there when another photojournalist, Ken Osterbroke, was shot to death and two other colleagues wounded. "I decided a long time ago that if I was going to do this, I would have to put myself at risk," he says.
