The great irony about writing is that the fairly solitary pursuit. And yet, you would think that your loved ones would really be attuned to them. In a funny way, the very thing they might have admired about you at one time becomes a source of tension. So I had fun playing with that in the book. It seemed like on the page, that would be really fun for you because that's what you know so intimately and you can bring it back.
