The Dialectic of Utopia and Ideology

Frédic Jameson said that utopia is tied to the impulse to imagine something other. He talks about it as a sort of meditation on the limits of our world in which allows us to envision admittedly not clearly because who could possibly know what another world that is possible might be like. It doesn't have to be called utopia for those who don't like that term, but it has to be connected to this idea of imagination and alterity itself.
