The Role of Technical Writers in Creating Quality Documentation

How do you make an overarching architecture out of this mess? That's like problem number one and then the other one is how do you get to consistent documentation. Both of these are things where technical writers potentially as a technical editor or a technical writer can play a really, really important role. You couldn't rely to some extent on tooling but there's some stuff that still requires humans. Even if you have a strict style guide, I think there's a level of human work that is necessary to get to that consistency.
