The Slothful Servant
This temptation to be slothful in light of the judgment's delay is originally, I think pretty clearly spoken by Jesus in a Jewish context. But later on we see even, this becomes a central part of the apostles' exhortation to even the Gentile disciples. Like 1 Corinthians 7 came to mind where Paul's going to talk about living as though those who have wives, though they had none,. Those who mourn as though they were not mourning, etc. And he actually kind of summarizes that in the next sentence he says, because I want you to be free from anxiety.
