Aquinas 101 - Course 2: Introduction to Thomistic Philosophy

CHAPTER

Goodness or Badness Is a Factual Affair

Goodness or badness is a factual affair. Goodness and evil are nothing other than that. One can judge who is good and to what degree. If someone in fact lives from out of stable dispositions to act according to the meaning between extremes and various matters then he or she is a good human being. Otherwise no or not so much. The prudent person in particular in a particular way is the good person. Between prudent people at least we can expect a lot of agreement on what is the right way for human beings to live.
