Lacan's Death Drive in a Seminar
The first TV broadcast is, I think in Schenectady, New York. Did you know that? Wow, I had no idea about that! It's crazy. So we're going to get at that a little bit. The biggest thing from this seminar and certainly the most relevant to my work is where Lacan talks about Edgar Allan Poe's purline letter. He develops a theory of the signifier and then also he, uh, is giving a theory of seriality that becomes pretty big for Delos and for Deridos. And his take on drive changes probably two more times, at least two more times.
