YouTube is a lightning rod for activating propaganda. The pervasive parasocial nature of YouTube is extremely attractive and galvanizing. These appear on YouTube to be just some schmo on their webcam in their living room talking to you when they are funded by huge, often dark money political donors with a very specific agenda. You don't get so quickly rabbit hole. Yet, the January 6th insurrection, more of those people had been radicalized on YouTube than any other single platform. That really does not require a rabbit hole. It doesn't even require an algorithm. It is more about the scale of that platform, how many people are on it, and how attractive and alluring that content is"
