How to Have Good Conversations in the Classroom
I think first we have to realize that having a really d dialogue about morality, or politics, or religion, or the good life, right now, it's something you have to work at. These have always been things that people have earned. We do a lot of activities with our students where we try to give them an opportunity to know who else is in the room before they get a chance to start giving philosophical arguments. I think moving really intentionally and gradually is is extremely important in philosophy classrooms. It helps me quite a bit to actually read the ancient greeks, like 24 hundred years ago in athens. They were having the same problems as were having.
