When was it, sixteenth century that distilled liquor comes around? Sixteenth, seventeenta. So alcohol an diction, was that not as much of a problem before? When you just had like these low alcohol % beers and wines, it's less of a problem,. especially if you don't have private access to themight you can only get them in group settings. What's interesting is, i the gynetic propensity for alcoholism is probably the same all over the world in humans, but actual alcoholism rates vary quite a bit. And that's probably because of cultural factors.
