The CIA Purchased LSD for the CIA

The CIA bought the entire world's supply of LSD from Albert Hoffman, who synthesized it after World War II. Sidney Gottlieb didn't get connected to the CIA till the late 40s. Timothy Leary was a straight-up fucking CIA agent. He wasn't really a CIA agent because most of these guys weren't actually employed directly by the CIA. The amount of money the CIA was giving to Harvard psychology department was equal to more money than all of the tuition revenue they collected that year.
