The Increased Distraction Factor

Kelsey: It is true that pedestrians are out there walking distracted, right? But the evidence base for how harmful it is is not very strong at all. An example I use in my paper in this talk about distraction is that drivers in Edmonton hit 284 people in 2017 and they killed nine of them. And so when we say it's about people walking distracted, I just want us to look at all of the things that people are hitting on our over engineered roadways.
