The Engine Is a Hung Engine, Is It a Flamed Engine?
The engine was hanging slightly above one point. The procedure for a hung engine is to close the engine's bleed air valve. Advancing the throttles at this point would have produced a much slower engine celeration than what would have been observed at sea level. Given the altitude they were at, the n t s b cannot say whether or not the engineer would have been able to restore the engine to normal operation anyway.
