The Great Gatsby, by Zelda Fitzgerald
By 1924, things started to go a little bit sour. Fitzgerald's drinking habit had gotten to be- It was officially a problem. And Zelda was starting to exhibit signs of mental illness. So they took off to Europe too because Fitzgerald was thinking, okay, enough with all these short stories. I want to focus on another novel. The Great Gatsby drew on Fitzgerald's experience earlier, living in Long Island and some of the things he witnessed there.
