We have massively failed ourselves with the people that we've elected, and the fact that we haven't kept them accountable. The crucial missing link is we need accountability. We need systems to keep people accountable. And i don't know how we do it. But we need to recreate a a culture of accountable authority. I think things might have to get a lot worse, and we might have to feel the pain and the consequences before we truly act on this.
