Uber is expected to be profitable for the first time this year. The company has a good cost-conscious culture now, and so it makes sense to spend on growth instead of spending money in other areas that aren't growing as fast. "I like to do math and you can't make the math work," says Jefferies' John MacIntosh about Uber's valuation.
