This is part of the reason why women prioritize a man's social status - how he is viewed in the eyes of others because high status men have access to more resources. People value trustworthiness, they value intelligence, wisdom, knowledge.

David Buss is an evolutionary psychologist at UT Austin. He is one of the founders of the field of evolutionary psychology.
