The Rise and Fall of the British Union of Fashists

Mosley moved the British Union of Fashists headquarters to a former teacher training college in Chelsea. Mosley's fascist defense force, nicknamed the Blackshirts, became notorious for violence against Jewish people and communist groups. Though some in the British establishment had first hoped popular fascism might counterbalance communism, MI5 now began to recognize that fascism itself was a real threat.
