The Longer Timeline of Alcohol Assistive Hepatitis
A lot of the portal hypertension and illness that you see is related to this like very severe inflammatory process. Most patients who present with their first episode of alcohol associated hepatitis to the hospital actually do have some underlying cirrhosis but not all of them. After 12 to 18 months i'll sometimes even do a fiber scan to try and assess their level of fibrosis to see if they have had improvement maybe they don't have cirrhosis or staedohepatitis.
