The Importance of Purification in Scripture
Fire represents in scripture, in a multitude of different places, purification. So when it says each man's work will be manifest for the day, we can say the day of judgment will disclose it because it will be revealed with fire and the fire will test what sort of work each one is done. If any man's work is burned up, he will suffer loss though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.
