The Restorationist Impulse, Isn't It Like John Winthrop's?

There's a kind of restorationism which seems like it cand become the cargo cultism o the past. But here we see this other sentiment: We know, we are putting ourselves in the hands of god. And without absolute assurance that everything they have to do has to be put to an end, no power can endure. Obedience to authority does not exist for its own sake but rather as a means to an end.
