This theory has been put forward due to the problem that there is yet to be any sign of a cultural change right after the destructions. I is thought that the sea peoples were marauding bands that wouldn't leave any trace of their culture as they raided settlements and wouldn't stay long enough to leave any traces of themselves. Though archaological evidence has shown that throughout the mediterranean world, a series of conflicts from raiding forces can be seen but not a single united group operating in a single wave.
