The German Communist Party and the Great Depression

The economic recovery of the 1920s had been largely financed by foreign loans. When these items were drastically reduced after 1929, serious problems followed. The German Communist Party would be led by Ernst Thalman after 1925. He was a firm believer in the inevitability of and importance of the revolution. But with the benefit of hindsight, we know that the real risk of a Communist revolution was incredibly small.
