Introduction

The leaders of the world's two largest economies have wrapped up their highly consequential talks in Bali, Indonesia. U.S. President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping met for more than three hours on the sidelines of the G20 summit. It's the first face-to-face talk since Biden entered the White House; he reiterated going into this meeting that the United States is committed to keeping the lines of communication open.
