Demi Moore's Indecent Proposal
The film was the number one movie at the box office for four weeks. Betty Friedan literally said shame on them when asked what to make of the women who were complicit in making indecent proposal. In a Newsweek piece called How Much Is That Demi in the Window, Jerry Adler wrote: The Movie Industry runs almost entirely on putting a dollar value on sex. What Demi did differently was talk about it and choose to star in movies that were subtextually or otherwise about it.
