Labour's Plans to Retain More GPs

Labour's Streating went over labour plans which they've talked about before and this includes things like expanding medical training places to 15,000 a year so that's double the current total. From the details we've had it's not clear at all how many of this 15,000 would translate into actual GPs or whether labour has any specific plans around GP numbers. He did point out the moral challenges with taking people from countries that desperately need their own staff and then deny an opportunity to people who want careers in the NHS close at home. The focus seems to be much more on training more doctors rather than really mapping out how to reverse the loss of the current workforce.
