The Importance of Listening to Your Parents

Louise: From very early on we were taught that our loyalty should always go to the party. So if you hear anything of what your parents said or or did that is not in line with the teaching of mom you report them and people the kids reported their parents. There's a very famous story of this 16 year old boy who changed his name to Red Guard. He was a loyal Red Guard so he heard his mother complaining about the Cultural Revolution at home. He reported together with his father reported the mother. She was arrested and executed two months later. People contain their parents left and right.
