The Virtue of Meekness

John Stott reminds us that it is pride that actually lurks behind discord. When we see ourselves as creatures of God alongside other creatures of God, we see them with respect. And then we come to God as re-creator, humbled but grateful because of our place. With true humility, disagreement are differing views which are legitimate. If you're humble in your disagreement, it can lead to curiosity and dialogue. To walk in a manner that's fitting to our calling is to walk with humility but also gentleness. It could also translate this word as meekness, meekness and some do.
