Elixir: A Server for Mastodon
There are some real scalability challenges in the federated nature and the push nature of sort of mastodon. I've heard that some of the larger follow basis have had some trouble with moving accounts. The rest can be tackled in a decently graceful way over time, but it's, it can certainly sort of overwhelm an innocent server somewhere. And for me personally, I did not feel excited about dev ops and Ruby again.
