The Disruptive Nature of Electricity

I would like to hear your thoughts on the disruptive nature of something like electricity. Do you see any downsides to it? There's lots of risks. What could go wrong? That's a fun question to ask. It should cat me at this with, in general, I'm quite optimistic of the potential of the technology. Not necessarily because the technology is so great, but I think a lot of our current processes are pretty bad.
