These chatbots, they confabulate. They make stuff up because they don't actually understand anything. And just regurgitate predictions. That can be very disruptive. Lots of things to worry about,. but consciousness, not so much. It's really the social impacts of things that might appear to be conscious and discourse which I'm sure would be less controversial about.
