The History of Sick Humor

The phrase sick humor was coined in the mid-20th century to describe a very small number of comics. It's a combination of both gross and shocking and also not even trying to be funny. Moore Noir is specifically talking about Jonathan Swift 1729 pamphlet A Modest Proposal, which is often the eartext for political satire.
