Is There a Glass Ceiling Beyond Which Tacit Programming Gets in Your Way?
I was very sad when the language was simplified, but it did reduce a lot of code. I think tacit programming is just harder to get a handle on than explicit because with explicit you know where the operands are. Whereas with tacit programming, you'd had to memorize about 25 different forms of tacit function. That was simply more than most people were going to do. Both Whitney and I have doubted that there's some kind of glass ceiling beyond which the abstraction just becomes too hard and gets in your way.
