The Transformation of European Society in the Late Bronze and Iron Ages
The Iron Age grew directly out of the Late Bronze Age. The Ermfield period flowed smoothly into the Hulsstadt period, which spanned both the end of the Bronze Age and the beginning of the Iron Age. It didn't take iron to radically change European societies. Massive cemeteries, full of cremation barriers, sometimes consisting of thousands upon thousands of the deceased with their ashes in distinctive urns filled up the landscape.
