The Tradition of the Boers Head

The Norse have this tradition or boar sacrifice called sonaragolter and the tradition is described in Herrfere saga or heirrix. The Boers head is still served at one of the universities in Oxford at Christmas I can't remember which university it is but that is a Boers head and there's a BoersHead Carol in Oxford. It's very likely that that feasting custom came from the cult of Freyr who was associated with fertility and with the Yule feast and who rode on a golden boar called Gullian birthday. They used to somehow tell the future maybe to find out if it was going to be a good year or not according to another saga
