Why Naturalism Predicts Ethnicity, Pain and Pleasure
Justin claims that naturalism predicts facts about pain and pleasure, flourishing and languishing and herenous evils. I will argue that we have been given no good reason to expect any of these on naturalism. The basic ideal for soul building is that human suffering of all kinds is necessary to achieve the est goods. So what are the best goods? It will help to consider some concrete examples. Consider the case of saint damien of molocai who spent 16 years in the hawaiian islands serving lepers before succumbing to the disease himself.
